A MERRY MIX-UP

A MERRY MIX-UP

Ah, the holidays. There's a joyful spirit in the air, which we love…and sometimes a bitter chill, which we don't. For those blustery days, turn to this warm and delicious recipe – it’s anchored with Malbec, so you know it's a winner.

Perfect for parties, mix-up a batch of this winter warm-up for your next gathering.

1 ½ tablespoons mulling spice

12 ounces vodka

1 bottle of Malbec

1 teaspoon orange zest

2 tablespoons sugar

4 tablespoons raisins

2 tablespoons almonds

4 sticks cinnamon

Wrap the mulling spice in cheesecloth, tie with twine and place in large saucepan. Add the vodka, Malbec, orange zest and sugar, and bring to a very light simmer for at least 30 minutes. Discard the cheesecloth packet.

Drop a few raisins and almonds at the bottom of each mug, then pour the warm mixture over and garnish with a cinnamon stick.

Cheers!
